I was really worried about this book whiile minimalist scenarios of the situation and portraits interested. Ultimately I had a good idea to book material describes how Equipmet, brands, selection, and so on. For those, the techinics expeting portraits go for Master Lighting Guide for Portrait “Christopher Gray – ***** Note: 3 / 5

I started as an amateur photographer, and I would like to know more about lighting. This book was recommended by Strobist, so I added to my wish list. Upon receipt of it as a gift, I am disappointed that the reader is supposed to be a lot of expensive equipment, many of which are outside camera flashes have shooting through screens, so the information seems to be very good for this unit, But certainly not “minimalist” or the new amateur photographer. Kindle edition of this book contains low resolution images in black and white. They are on the Kindle is ok, but you may be disappointed on your iPhone or Kindle Kindle PC. Otherwise, the book is still very useful. I think there is too much time on equipment for a book on minimalist lighting, but there are lots of useful information and many good lighting sample configurations are included. Rating: 3 / 5

As you read the reviews of this book, you know, the Strobist “movement”? Today, 88 this book of 124 pages to explain what equipment you need, such as installation, Snoots, receiver, gels, what are the advantages and disadvantages of using the minimalist nature Strobist lighting, Author etc.Der contain only 36 pages (or less) for “case studies” – as the specific issues to light, what are the problems, etc., with (useful) Diagrammen.Ich Lighting wait much more. I mean, you have 88 pages of free access on Strobist site or elsewhere. The author has recognized the Strobist and will, David was able to work a hobby, he has at least try to add something new or for the introduction of 44 pages instead of 88 to verwenden.Die other thing I did not quite, as were the models / issues which he uses for this book. Some were Dell / AMD-CEO, vice presidents, staff, etc. OK, no problem. But the majority of the portraits in this book are normal, cheesy, smooth, nothing really stands out (but with few exceptions!). Indeed, the portrait on the cover is the most interesting (and no, you will not find the lady in red dress inside). On the other hand, this may be a good thing if you pursue a career minimalist / on – Photographer place that most of the time you use it simple people, dull and boring that you reply to photograph. I expected a book about other interesting people / portraits inside and ideas for your flash with creatively nutzen.Alles all, this book as a guide to start if you do not have good [...] With you, or if you simply hold on the real thing and not looking at your monitor. There are few good advice and how-to’s, not expect anything revolutionary. Rating: 3 / 5

The first line of the description of the book is an outright lie: “Packed with incredible images and step by step techniques …” The images are well exposed, professional quality, but a little dry and boring can not remember no case studies suggest a single image, it’s unbelievable “implementation.” are about as close as this book is the model of “technical.” I was shooting with flash for a year little, and a comprehensive set of flash hotshoe accumulated small and studio flashes, if the first four chapters (chapters four!), Uber Gear, presents very little new or useful information for mich.Ich was certainly misled by the title: “Minimalist Lighting: Professional Techniques for Location Photography”, and he expects you to read the technical professional “for Photography Rent.” Well, unfortunately there was very little this book is (another), most * yawn * The only chapter on the transmission, including case studies, diagrams and lighting was interesting, and the type of information I was seeking, but a chapter techniques compared to four to ‘machines and light 101 in this book certainly lives up to “minimalist” in the dedicated tracks much more than “Professional Techniques for Location Photography. “Too bad the price was not as minimalist as the benefit of this book. However, I do not think that every single picture was” incredible “as angegeben.Ich Buchbeschreibung there was a star for a chapter (five) of something useful Fallstudien.Für all intermediate to advanced off camera with flash, I would recommend skipping this one can not, beginners and even much better.
